How the desk works, and how to reach a person
Buying
- Where do the items come from?
- Everything listed is already held on the desk account. There is no other seller waiting to confirm, which is why the price and the float on the page do not change between the cart and the trade offer.
- How do I pay?
- Purchases are paid from your purchases balance. You top it up by card in amounts between €5 and €1800, then check out. Card details are handled by the payment provider, never stored here.
- When does the trade offer arrive?
- After checkout the order sits in review while an operator confirms the items, then the offer is sent to the Steam account on your profile. You will see the order move from in review to sent to settled, and each change is emailed to you.
- Can I cancel an order?
- You can cancel while the order is still in review. Once the trade offer has been sent, cancelling means declining the offer — the amount then returns to your purchases balance.
Selling to the desk
- What is my item worth?
- We quote 82% of the value the item is listed at, per item, before you submit anything. The desk carries the item afterwards, so the quote does not move if the market does.
- Why do you need my documents?
- We pay out real money, so we have to know who receives it. The first sell request asks for your name, date of birth, citizenship, country of residence, tax number, an identity document and a proof of address. It is a one-time check.
- How long does a sell request take?
- A request is reviewed manually. Once approved you send the items in the trade offer we open, and the payout is credited to your sales balance as soon as they arrive.
Balances and payouts
- Why are there two balances?
- Money you add by card can only be spent on the market, and money you earn from selling can be withdrawn. Keeping them apart is what lets us pay out without card-refund disputes touching your sales.
- What is the smallest withdrawal?
- €5. Withdrawals go to a card verified on your account and are released after identity checks have passed.
- Which currency is everything in?
- The desk settles in EUR. You can switch the display currency to see indicative prices, but balances, quotes and payouts are all in EUR.
Account and access
- Do I need a Steam login?
- No. You sign in with an email address and a password, and add your Steam trade details to your account when you are ready to receive or send items.
- Something looks wrong on an order. What now?
- Send the order reference through the form on this page. Support answers to the address you sign in with, and can see the same status history you do.
Deployment notes
Card charges and payouts are simulated in this environment, and the Steam trade offers described above are recorded by an operator rather than sent through Steam. Everything else — accounts, balances, orders, sell requests, identity checks and the audit trail — runs against a real database.
